More Notecard Boxes

Don't forget to enter to win my Blog Candy here

Finished up my Christmas cards today and made some more notecard boxes.  The polka dot one's papers are Imaginisce and the other two use papers from Close to My Heart Magnifique.  Quotes are in a vellum pack from Joann's and embellishments are from the stash.

I also perfected my 3 x 3 notecard envelope and will post a template for that this week ; )

3.5 Inch Notecard Box & Template

First of All:  Don't forget to enter to win my blog candy here

I wanted to create a 3 1/2 box with a separate lid to put 3 x 3 notecards in as a gift for my neighbor, who is moving soon.
I searched around, never finding exactly what I wanted, so using another box template that was the right idea, but the wrong size, I experimented a bit and came up with my own, that I thought I'd share with whoever wants it.  For the box part, you will need a 7.5" x 7.5" piece of cardstock or sturdy paper; the lid needs a piece of cardstock or sturdy paper
5 5/8" x 5 5/8".

I like this box, because the walls are doubled, which makes it very neat and sturdy.

For the box, score at 1" and 2" from the left side; turn a quarter turn and score again at 1" and 2".  Continue until all four sides are scored.  Following my diagram, cut out the portions in red.  Cut along the blue line in the direction indicated.  For the flaps, cut a snippet out of each corner as shown by the dotted green lines.  Make sure you fold and crease all lines before gluing down for the crispest box.  I experimented with zip glue and atg adhesive and found my atg adhesive worked best, but your mileage may vary.  Be sure to put some adhesive on flaps

The lid to the box is made the same way, only scoring at 1/2" and 1" all the way around..  It is designed so the center is actually 3 5/8", so it is just a tiny bit bigger than the box, so it fits nicely.

  2. Become a follower of this blog and leave another comment on this post letting me know you're now  a follower! (If you became a follower in October--you qualify, too.  Just add a second comment letting me know that!)
  3. Put a post on your own blog linking to mine w/ an announcement of this giveaway and leave another comment on this post with a link to your post!
  4.  Become a follower on my CTMH blog and leave another comment on this post letting me know you're now  a follower of WinterHeart Paper Arts!
Here's my solemn promise to all my followers on both blogs: I will never send unsolicited emails to any followers on either of my blogs!!  Ever!  Followers do receive post updates, depending on your preference settings in your own account.  I will be having a newsletter on my CTMH blog, so if you do wish to receive periodic emails from me regarding current CTMH deals, you can sign up for that using my "sign up for my newsletter" subscription box both here and on the other blog.

NOW FOR THE FUN--WHAT CAN YOU WIN??
One lucky winner will receive this:

Just in time for Christmas/Holiday hobbying--A Mistletoe Workshop-on-the-Go Kit..  This great kit includes 10 sheets of cardstock, 12 sheets of doublesided paper as seen here: Mistletoe Level 2 Paper Pack; the All the Best Acrylic (Clear) Stamp Set, an Embellishment assortment, and a guide with project ideas for both cards and scrapbook layouts.

AND--there will be additional prizes.  For every 50 followers on THIS blog, I will award a Petite Perks Stamp Set to one lucky winner.  So, for example, if there are 105 followers by week's end, I will generate three numbers, one for the Workshop-on-the-Go Kit and two Petite Perks Stamp winners.
This Blog Love period will run for one week, with the winner drawn and announced on 11/17/10.  Comments will be sequentially assigned numbers with the winner(s) chosen by Random.Org.  Future blog love contests (I hope to do this every 4-6 weeks) will include one prize per giveaway.  In the event these items are backordered or unavailable from Close to My Heart, a similar item with equal or greater value will be substituted.  Winner must email me within one week of contest end in order to claim prize.

Good luck to everyone! Thanks for visiting, and hope to see you back soon!
