Two of my adult bookkeeping students are finishing up in their studies this week, so I made each of them a card to celebrate. Blue and gold are our school colors, so I used some basic DCWV cardstock in those colors, layered them on cards made of white cardstock.
I heavily distressed the blue and yellow pieces using the CTMH edge distresser, as well as the sanding block and sandpaper from the CTMH distressing kit. The stamp is a combination of two sets--the flower stem is from Flourishes, and the flower is from the Heart to Heart set. It is matted on black, distressed cardstock. I used second generation stamping using Pacifica ink to achieve the tone-on-toe flower look. The stem, btw, is stamped in Desert Sand. The Congrats Grad sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink sentiments set. I also lightly sponged Pacifica blue ink around the edges of the white cardstock.
Inside each is an inspirational quotation on vellum

Home Dec Fun
Friday night I went to my upline's house where she has the most fabulous craft room! It is HUGE! I'm green with jealousy. But, it is hard to stay jealous, knowing what a great person she is...generous and hardworking--and FUN, too. The group of women there were a joy to hang out with--big shout out to Jennifer, Amy, Tara, Kassi, and Danae!
We made this little home dec project while there...all the products are CTMH, needless to say...mistletoe papers, stickles bling, stamps from various sets, and the mix and mingle album, which is a mix of chipboard and acrylic album pages (8 pages total). We used 3 for this project, and only used one side, although it would be fun to do something on the other side

Scrapbook Cover
First--a quick reminder to the Blog Love (aka Candy) giveaway winner--(in this case Terrie B)--remember, you need to contact me within a week of winning in order to claim your prize. Scroll down to the giveaway winner post to get my email ; ) I don't want you to miss out!
Yesterday was a scrappy day. I played with my new bind-it-all, and I have to say, while I love it, I DO NOT love the way they center their projects, so I developed my own system . I'll have to do some more study to perfect my technique, but I guess that's the way it is with new tools.
I finally did my first scrapbook layout!! I'm a card/home dec person, but I really want to do scrapbooking. This is the cover of a little book I am making for my dd, LW, and her fiance. The papers are from the May SEI kit-of-the month club ,which includes the album. I really love Club Sei; they have a mini-kit one month for 17.95 and a mega-kit the next for 24.95. You can skip months, and they really give a ton of stuff for the money. The November mini-kit was PACKED. Plus, I got the "back-issue" May and July kits for 1/2 price when they sent me a coupon offer after joining. A great deal! Highly recommend!
I know this is pretty simple (and hey, that's my style!), but it's a start ; )
I added ribbon from American Crafts, Lagoon brads from Close to My Heart, and the stamp, which says "Together Forever" in the little journal circle is from the Unity set from Close to My Heart. Ink is Chocolate Brown from CTMH.
